Time reveals sadness of a one-sided love,
A dark, sinister raven, crushing my pure white dove.
A wounded sparrow, huddling from your chilling blast,
Yearning for sunshine, hoping darkness won't last.
Your song of yesterday, flowing chords through my mind,
Reasons you're changing, I surely can't find.
My heart is your plaything, a discarded toy,
All efforts to win you, merely annoy.
I hold on, trembling, to love's prior glow,
Trusting that wind of indifference will soon cease to blow.
For the coldness within you must certainly heal,
God strengthen me, for your heart to re-steal.
Our fate is not clear as I walk through this trial,
To restore and rebuild has not been your style.
Tomorrow will show if sunlight returns,
A reknitting of souls... My heart truly yearns.
