As I sit in my silence wondering where you are
Knowing in my heart it’s gone to far
I reach for my crutch, one I had not needed for a while
Feeling my existence in this world isn’t worthwhile
Giving up on life, love, and felicity
Giving into the desire of the dark side of my mind
Not really worrying about how it will end
Doesn’t matter about the length of the trip or the toxicity
As I get lost in my crutch my mind ceases to provide coherent thought
I feel like the best thing I could do is to become just a memory of your recent past
It will be only a short period of time before I even pass through your thoughts
Then I shall be long gone, for nothing in this world really lasts
It’s not me that you called out for in the middle of the night
When you talked in your sleep, it wasn’t me that was in your dreams
Long ago my hopes and dreams took flight
So now I take my leave of you, so you can be with the one of your dreams
