: Warum gerade Bilder einer Kaffeemaschine? Die Mitarbeiter des Computerlabors teilten sich diese Maschine, die im sogenannten "Trojan Room" stand. Das Problem war, dass einige der Forscher nicht auf demselben Stockwerk wie die Kaffeemaschine untergebracht waren. So konnte es passieren, dass sie die Treppen umsonst gelaufen sind, da der Kaffee bei ihrer Ankunft bereits leer war. Dank der Fotos konnten sie jetzt sicherstellen, dass sie nur dann losgehen, wenn auch noch Kaffee da war.

Im Jahr 1993 waren Internet-Browser schließlich in der Lage Bilder direkt darzustellen, so dass die Mitarbeiter kein extra Programm mehr benötigten, um den Stand der Kaffeemaschine zu überprüfen.
