"Sch�tzungen zufolge haben bis zu eine Million Raumfahrtfans rund um das Kennedy Space Center zugeschaut, wie sich die "Atlantis" auf ihre letzte Reise zur Internationalen Raumstation gemacht hat. Vollgeladen mit Proviant und Ersatzteilen f�r die Besatzung der ISS - ein Jahr soll die Lieferung reichen. Unten im Kennedy Space Center versammelten sich die zust�ndigen NASA-Manager zu ihrer letzten Pressekonferenz nach einem Shuttle-Start...

...Mit der "Atlantis" startet zum vorerst letzten Mal eine US-Raumf�hre ins All. Damit ist die �ra der bemannten Raumfahrt der USA vorerst vorbei - zu teuer, zu ineffizient, zu veraltet die Technologie..."
