Der hessische Ministerpräsident Roland Koch nennt als Grund für seinen Rückzug aus der Politik seine schwindende Gestaltungsmacht. „Es ist eine Entscheidung der Vernunft“, sagte er in einem Interview der Frankfurter Allgemeinen Sonntagszeitung. Kritik übt er an seiner Partei: Die CDU hätte ihn in die Spendenaffäre „hineingezerrt“.
