Subject: Thoroughbred for Sale Author: Men and Thoroughbreds [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 15:33:57 02/24/03 Mon A large horse lorry is seen driving down the dirt track, a clean white lorry with the word 'SpringTime Racer' written in big bold letter on either side, as it stops several men get out, crowding round the back of the lorry as three men pull it down. As one man looks around, it clear he is the owner of these beasts as he looks around, cunning eyes watching for anyone who might be interested in his stock, as the other men unload the horses. Race Name: Tricks Of Trouble Stable Name: Trick Breed: Thoroughbred Colour: Chestnut Gender: Colt Height: 16hh Age: 3 Personailty: Very easy going and calm. Great on the race track and goes like the clappers. Training: Racing Price: $3000 Race Name: Fired Ice Stable Name: Ice Breed: Thoroughbred Colour: Grey Gender: Filly Height: 16.1hh Age: 2 Personailty: Normally very sweet. Not much phases her if she can live like she wants. Training: Racing Other: in her first race she slipped on the wet ground and fell, badly injuring her leg. Has sugury on her back leg about 6 weeks ago. Is now on box rest for another 3 months before vet must check her leg to see if she can be turn out into the field. Has been told if she doesn’t mess about on her leg while it heals, she can be raced again afterwards. Though isn’t taking kindly to box rest and is getting stressed and is now very highly strung. Has to walk out once a day but is proving differcult to handle when she is led due to the box rest. Needs a experience handler! Training: Racing Price: $3000 Show Name: Delta Phoenix Stable Name: Delta Breed: Thoroughbred Colour: Black Gender: Stallion Height: 15.2hh Age: 7 Personailty: Well behaved but not the most lovable horse in the world!. Training: Retired Racer Other: Was a excellent racer in his day, but retired two years ago due to too much strain on his legs. Excells in Dressage if he is settled first but still likes to runs, hasn’t a clue how to jump, may have tried to train him but failed. She had spent a bit of her child hood around thoroughbreds and knew their temperment, or at least a little. Striding forward, her eyes on Delta, she addresses the owner.. May i try that one there? She motions toward the black horse..

As the man nods, disappearing into the lorry and coming down with a saddle and bridle as he walks over to the steed, placing tack down as he quickly removes the checkered travel blanket, folding it neatly and placing it on the floor, before picking up a brush, quickly giving him a flick over before picking up the black dressage saddle as he places it on his back, smooth out the saddle cloth underneath it before letting down the girth, catching it as if fell and buckling it as tight as it could for now. he then retrives the bridle, undoing the noseband on the head coller before placing reins and martingale over his head, hand placed firmly round the black stallion's nose as he gentle slips the bit into his mouth before securing it up over his ears, buckling the throatlash, noseband and flash strap before replacing nosepart of halter. Returns to the saddle, tightening the girth before letting odwn the stirrips before removing the halter and leading stallion over. Stallion stands calmly while he is tack before follows swiftly, standing as he figits slightly.

Swingint them over his head, she moves to his left side and puts ehr foot int he stirrupt, her hand grasping the pommel and reins. She hops once, then againa nd swings herself up to settle lightly on his back.
