She followed Jase down the wooden dock, where the waves softly lapped at the support poles and shore behind them. His whisper had sent chills up her spine. Sonya grinned brightly, watching Jase as he lowered Macon into the car seat. As she spoke quietly.

“I love your surprises Jase. And of course, you too”

That was just to be sure he knew. Sonya would always love him, no matter what happened, Macon too for that matter. Macon had easily tugged at her heart from the first day he arrived here. Sonya say down by the picnic set up and crossed her legs carefully beneath her. Her dark eyes watched Macon and Jase together affectionately, father and son. Sonya was sure now that if Macon left for whatever reason they’d always feel like they were missing something- missing part of a whole.
