Hello Karen, I am not sure if you had tried to contact me on my optus email and my sister Diane has sent me this to respond to you.

Our great grandfather is the same Rhodes you have in your family, I have their Marriage certificate from Gladstone and also found info that he had jumped ship he marriad mary jane Blackburne and then moved to Mackay and then Cairns, he was the proprietor/licencee of the Crown Hotel and Newmarket Hotels in Cairns and also had an interest in a cordial factory. he is buried in the Cairns Martyn Street Cemetary and died in 1925, his wife is buried in the Old Cairns Pioneer cemetary in Mcleod street.My grandmother was his youngest daughter Mary and she married a william mackie paul for Elgin Alves Morayshire in Scotland and their son Gordon Graham Paul is our father.
