Subject: John and Joseph Pine

John Pine, born in Devon 1843, is my great grandfather. He came out to Australia on the Childe Harold in 1861 and settled at Hexham, where he met up with his brother Joseph. John and Joseph are both listed in Hexham and Ballangeich records. To date I have not found any record that his father Joseph and stepmother Louisa also came out to Australia. Certainly there is no record of them in Western Victoria. Joseph was one of the Parkhurst boys sent out to Australia of the Joseph Soames, and was sent to work with McNab and Chirnside in the Mortlake area. Joseph stayed in the area and John eventually moved to Geelong after the death of his first wife. I am trying to find information about Joseph and Louisa as well. By the way John's mother was Elizabeth Boyer Kitto.
