OK, I'd like you all to know that I live in Oregon, about 1 hr from the coast, so I found out about all this before I even headed off for school. We watched the news almost ALL day long, and I've watched it since I've been home (it's 9:20 pm west coast time now).

I've heard 2 different things here:

1. we're %99.9 sure that it was someone from the U.S.
2. we're %99.9 sure that it's Palisomething (dunno the actual name) or some country around there

Last I heard, we were unsure of who it was (and this was at about 8:00 PM pacific time that I heard this), but we had pretty much ruled out that it is someone from America. That doesn't mean it's not still a possibility, but we really have no idea who exactly is responsible. One official said that he didn't think that it was the one guy (can't remember his name) that everyone thinks it is, and he did have some good facts that could lead away from him. I truly don't know who would do such a thing, and so I'll just watch the news and keep updated.

I have no idea what it's like for those of you closer to New York and Washington D.C. (I add DC because, for us on the west coast, Washington means the state), but I can only imagine how hard it must be. I mean, I was crying this morning, and I live all the way across the country. My dad's co-worker and his wife are visiting New York City, my friend's brother goes to college at Columbia University (also in NY for those of you who don't know), and a few other people at school are in one way or another connected to someone in the NY area.

I know I'm probably writing way too much here, but this is a major day in the history of the United States Of America, and there is so much to say. Within less than an hour, many people's outlook on life changed. People realized that we're not as safe as we often think we are. Tomorrow, when we wake up in the morning, our nation won't be the same. I would hope that we all learn from this, because we are the future. By going through this, we become stronger, and perhaps can one day use this experience to prevent such events.

Most of that probably made no sense to any of you, but at least I got to express how I felt. I know that many of us are getting different bits of news. Some might just be rumor, and other parts might be true.

Please, everyone pray for our country, for the world, and for the families who have lost loved ones. I would like to close off my message by quoting a song (I know, I know, it's corny, but whatever!)...

"God bless America, my home sweet home"
