To me 'Religion' is a book of other people's words and influences telling us how to think and feel. My experiences of religion is always based on FEAR... 'do this and you go to heaven... do that and you go to hell' Our experience on this Earth should not be based on fear, but more of 'learning resposability' Children should be helped to understand this from a very early age, everything we do has a consequence which should not be taught through fear but of 'understanding' Looking 'within' ourselves is a more fruitful endeavour than looking in a book! Befor we had any organised religions we had 'spirituality' which came about through Nature and everything that was made by the Creator.. this is how the Creator spoken to us and still does. Which brings me to the second point about 'religion' in that no matter which walk of life you have been born into and which land you dwell upon it is (in my experience) the spiritually minded people who have more respect and love for Nature and also 'understand' the wholeness of its existance in relation to our own existance, whereas 'religious' peoples tend to plough her and rape her for profit (or is that prophit ha ha) building vast churches and temples etc, and building pretty little gardens whereup to constantly attempt to 'control' Nature! In other words 'religion' is about 'control' and not about 'soul'... infact many religious people do not even know the difference between soul and spirit. I also can not understand why many religious people feel the need to kill in the name of their God when most religions teach the all important 'Thou shalt not kill!'... a message to many a polatician there!!!
