Subject: A Reason to Celebrate

Today US wildlife managers released sixteen bison, three bulls and thirteen cows into the Rocky Mountain Arsenal Wildlife Refuge as part as an effort to return genetically pure wild bison to the short grass prairie where they once lived in the millions.
Lee Plenty Wolf, a Lakota spiritual leader from the Pine Ridge Indin Reservation said he made the trip to honor their legacy to his people.
As Plenty Wolf finished his prayer chant, the three newly released bulls,each weighing one ton, turned their heads away from the crowd and disappeared over the ridge.
Give to the Buffalo Commons. By saving the Buffalo we can bring back the prairie. By bringing back the prairie, we bring back and celebrate the heartbeat of the earth. By doing it together we bring healing to all people.
