Thank you for your response. I have waited and have given considerable thought to your last post. See, I am already learning about your culture.
I would like to respond to your response line by line, and am glad that we are having dialogue.

>let me make a few things clear..

>we ndns don't want your sympathy..

I do not, nor have I ever felt sorry for Native Americans. I have never insulted a Native American with pity. If some people want to interpret the fact that it bothers me when I see white folks treating Native Americans badly simply because they are Native Americans, why is that so much a crime? You are basically telling me that if I care and say something I am damned, and If I don't say anything that I don't care, and I am damned because I am a wasicu. You are telling me that I don't care, and that is not true.

most natives are
>gracious by nature, so speaking up is not easy, but
>necessary for our survival.. and it is not 'biting
>back', it is called standing up.. believe me when i
>say that martin luther king jr. needed malcom x..
>sometimes idiots need to be blasted.. it wakes people
>up.. makes em pay attention..

Perhaps the real difference between our points of view isn't so much that you are Native American, and that I am not, but that that I am a pacifist, and you are an activist. It is true that there is a time to stand up and a time to avoid lowering oneself to become part of the problem, and survival in any sense of the word is fraught with existential and moral questions, and we all grapple with that every day of our lives. The very act of eating involves the death of something else.

i don't presume
>anything dear.. i speak only from my view and my
>experience.. and trust me, i have plenty of
>experience..

I do not doubt you have had bad experiences, but so have I, and countless others of every ilk.

>
>i never had a problem with you..

I appreciate that you have given me that credit.

hell i don't even
>know you.. i did have a problem with a non indian
>sayin it was a 'no no' for a native person to speak up
>and tell a dumb ass wasicu where to go.. that i have
>a big problem with.. nothin personal, you just don't
>know what you are talking about cuz you aint one of
>us..

Perhaps the real difference is that we both would speak up, but that we have different approaches in how we speak to the offender.

but you seem cool enough.. lets keep dishin it
>out, and maybe some good can come from it for everyone
>here..

I appreciate the dialogue, and beieve there is value in dishing it out.

I just had a wonderful idea. Would you be willing to donate a little money along with me to the Buffalo Commons? We could give a joint donation with both our names on it. That way we could both do something good together. We could help give the Buffalo a home and bring a little healing to the prairie, the buffalo, the Earth and the relationship between Native and non Native alike. It's something concrete and positive we could do.
If you are curious about it, just go to Google and type in Buffalo Commons. If you feel uncomfortable with that, I understand, and perhaps we can find another joint project where we can make a difference, even if it is just dialougue like this on a public forum.

There is also a little wonderful magic I would like to share. Go on Google and type in God's cricket chorus, and listen to the slowed down sounds of crickets. It is like music from heaven, and reminds us that the whole universe emanates music of which we only have a glimpse of, and when you hear these crickets, think of the prairie, the earth and me, and the harmony these little creatures create.
