Subject: finding my native roots

My great,great grandmother was a full-blooded Native American. Her English name was Annis Close Gilmore; she was married to a white man named William Gilmore. He may have been military, a railroad worker or Indian agent or agency employee. She died on a reservation in Nebraska. After her death, William took their daughter, Eliza Gilmore, and left the reservation. He re-married and had at least two more children; this wife died and he took Eliza and her two half-siblings to Illinois (near Mason City). I do not know which nation my great,great-grandmother belonged to and this is what I am trying to find out. My grandmother is still living, and it was just in the past year that she even told me of our blood line. She said that "you didn't want anyone to know that there was Indian blood in your family; it was something that you just didn't talk about". My grandmother has given me all the information that she has regarding her mother, Eliza Gilmore Watkins. Can anyone help?
