Subject: Illini and my spiritual quest.

I recently began searching my heritage and found out that my great, great, great grandmother was of the Illini tribe. I don't know much more than that. I have read that most of the Illini tribes were decimated and only a few Peoria are left, in Oklahoma.

There is no doubt to look at me I am a white. I guess you could say that I am a "wanna be". I feel Red in my heart and want to know as much as I can about the spiritual believes and ways of the indians. I have heard that this can be very difficult, being white, and that it is not well accepted. I understand this, but I also have an burning inside that I can not deny. Everything I have read about the indian and their ways of life and spiritual beliefs, describe my heart and soul.
I would truely like to be able to find knowledge from someone, books can be easily interpeted in many different ways. It seems to me that many of the tribes had very similiar beliefs and customs and I would be accepting to learn from any tribe member. I don't want to offend anyone and hopefully won't. If any one is willing to talk to me I would be grateful beyond words, if there isn't anyone that feels drawn to this I understand also.

Thank You.
