Subject: Understanding "Mniognake"

I am seeking to understand the full significance of a "gift" I received from a Native American friend of mine. It is a hand-carved wooden box containing many items...and it has been referred to as his "Mniognake". Two friends of my friend have contacted me via email (these are 2 friends of his whom I have never met!) and expressed their concerns about his having sent this to me. Please, I am not Native American and I am unsure how to interpret this gift, or understand fully its significance. I thank all who will speak with me about this and share their knowledge.
