They mastered the mold, and they found the girls with the nerve to carry it out. The year they finally lost, with Stephanie Kuehne, was more attributable to her loss of nerve in the interview round.     • Lucky, I have to respectfully disagree w/ you regarding Stephanie's nerves in the interview competition. I think that Stephanie was underscored in the interview and also swimsuit competitons, but what really did her in was that leisure suit that they tried to pass off as an evening gown. Stephanie should have placed higher than she did. I think that if her gown h ad been black she would have done better in gown. • Kelly Hu did very well indeed at the 1993 pageant. Now that was a competitive pageant and it had a lot to do with the judges. Some of the judges asked some tough questions and Kelly Hu answer was good but the Michigan and Kansas were great, Georgia sound rehearsed. Kelly Hu did a wonderful job and man she looked stunning. 1993 will always be the last Miss USA pageant that had a diverse group and a beautiful group and the production of this pageant was sooo elegant.
