As most of the shows YTV's airs, whther american, european, canadian, japanese or otherwise, are made for american tv. Canada has less commercial times during most times of the day. Hence, in order to get a full 30 minutes for each show, they added in the PJ's back in 1988 when they started. Since then the PJ's have become a standard for morning, afternoon, and weekend shows. Thye do skits, chit chat,m do interviews, and other stuff. Most go on to bigger things, like acting careers, journalism and such.

Aashna went on to become a big Indian Pop sensation in India and here. Phil Guerro went on to host Gamerz and The AntiGravity Room for YTV and the SCIFi channel.
