Wow, I was browing around the net this early morn and say on Roche Point the link for good ole Fort Nightshade and was like, "Hey! Thats where I got my start at!" But when I got here and saw only a handful of messages since 04, I made the conclusion that the site is truly truly completely dead, buried, exumed, cremated and spread to the winds. For all the old Vets out there, as the Texans said, "Remember the Alamo!" Shall we, who began our ROC careers here, long after the Community began its downfall, we who slowed the landslide as much as we did, to keep it up for three years running, may we all say "Remember FORT NIGHTSHADE! Remember the Good Times! Remember the Slumps and Remember how we made it through them as best we could. With the fall of one board, each member would migrate to another, a few would leave all together, but a few new ones would join up, but it seemed with each new closed board, more and more would leave. But we pulled through a little bit better Rpers each time, and we spread that wisdom to the newbies, just as it was spread to us when we began. So, my fellow Rpers, if you feel the need to try for one last ressurrection, let it be now, find a board and recruit as many imaginative minds to it as you possibly can. If not, then, well I guess its good bye to the online RP community.

For Thou Fort Nightshade, which provided us an easy place to begin our RP rolls and introduce our first characters, I say "Thank you." Your closing was truly the creation of a testimonial to the glory days of the ROC. Even after the main site offically closed, your Role Playing board stayed open.

Once again, to the vets that are older than me, Thanks for your help when I first started out, for all the newbies that may see this, then please for the love of any and every higher power and any and every deity that you can think of, continue to Role Play, it has done nothing but help me become much smarter, and more relaxed in real life.

  • Saw that link too, Kileaf. I guess I still lurk around here occasionally. Nice to reminisce about the ROC in its hey-day. (NT) -- Darkrose/Rhissa/etc., 14:24:38 07/30/06 Sun
