First, I would like to say, I am most impressed with Onyx Magazine...Ms. Ola sent me a back issue and it was my first time ever coming across such a magazine for Black women and women of color, written in such a simplistic way...where all women of different levels of education could easily understand what was being written...and would be waiting for the next issue...to talk about and share...

We speak so much about enteuneurship and businesses for Black women, but yet we seldom speak of film making as being a business for Black people and especially Black woman...but, the race who controls the media...controls the ideas...the visions...the minds...

How many Black female film makers do you see making films about the positivity of Black women...what they have accomplished or have not accomplished...or marketing a Black product or business in the mass media...If we could build up and support Black female film makers to mass produce our ideas...businesses...our accomplishments...the way the White media does...we would be well on our way of allowing more Black women to reach the kind of information that is available to them in such magazines and conferences as Onyx. Where we would uplift and build-up Black women in the masses...we have to flood our race with images of ourselves...keep us informed of who and what we are...show all of our accomplishments...and the struggle it took and still takes to maintain...teach...and reach all of our goals in life, whatever they may be...Black women have to keep passing the torch...so that we...and our families can feel financially...spiritually...emotionally and psychically secure in our future...
