So long has it been since I've seen my home, I've missed it. And You All!
I've been so caught up in my daily life I'd failed to remember exactly from where I gather my spiritual strength.
What a silly Witch I am.
Let me bring you up to speed on why I've been so very absent from our hearth here.
I'm still volunteering for the Arizona Department of Corrections as a High Priestess providing Pagan (Mostly Wiccan but including Asatru and Druidry and many more) services. I was "headhunted" by the Alaskan Department of Corrections to provide services for the Alaskans being incarcerated here in the private prisons. As soon as I said I'd do it, they announced to me I would be setting multiple precedences due to the fact that Alaska has NEVER provided service for Pagans and I was the first Pagan Clergy to be hired for them in the Alaskan DOC's history. Talk about intimidating.I would be setting the standard for all HP's and HPS's coming in the future, let alone creating policy for what is "needed" for the Pagan community. And then on top of it, I go to provide services at the private prison and they've also included the Hawaiians and Washingtons in the group. I've got a rather full plate there. It all comes down to every monday and tuesday of the month I spend the evening in prison.
It's exhausting and exhilerating all at the same time but very rewarding in the end. If one inmate actually grows spiritually and it prevents him from committing ONE single crime, it all worth it to me.(I have 2 units of sex offenders and not recommitting crimes is a major thing we work on there)
Then there is my work. I work in the judicial system now and that in itself can be very stressful, I actually deal with the defendants when they are not in their best light.
We do try to keep them out of prison but some just won't take the help offered. Frustrating.
So at night when I get home, I mentally crash. I watch something of no real worth on TV and veg out. I do find myself sitting at the computer reading through your posts but I just haven't had the wherewithall to post a reply.

Gosh and Golly Gee, I didn't mean for this whole rant to sound like a poor pity me post! I'm actually very happy doing what I do, being what I am and all the responsibilities that come with it. I never in a million years let alone 6 years ago thought that I'd be in the "position" I'm in now. I love my job and the work I do at the prison. If I didn't, I wouldn't be doing either.

Autumnwolf, take all the classes you can at your gathering, you will see things from many angles if you do. if you have the chance, seek out the coordinators of the gethering, they will have all the networking information from your area. It will come in mighty handy. DRESS UP! it puts you in a great mood and frame of mind! Seize the day!

Ok...now if we can only find our where Moon and Dreemy have been hiding.....
