Subject: Out of town for a few days

Just so no one worries if I don't post or respond for a while, I'll be out of town for a few days. We're going to a Union conference in northern Ohio on Lake Erie. I can't wait. I love the area there.

Unfortunately, we've had bad news regarding my husband's job. The plant that he has worked at for 14 years is closing. There's been many ups and downs at this plant what with strikes, lock-outs, all the grievances, you name it, but you never want to see 300+ people lose their jobs. The company will not give a specific date as to when the doors will be closed for good. They have hinted at possibly the Fall but it could be June also. All we know is that the plant WILL be closing.

As some of you know, I haven't worked full time in about 8 years. I've had a couple part-time jobs, my own part-time business and been a stay-at-home mom. Well, that has come to an end. I picked up a bunch of hours at Target (where I've been working about 10 hours a week) so now I'll be averaging about 35 hours a week. That's going to be quite a change. And daughter will be starting at Safe Care in the mornings because I'll be leaving for work at 6:30 AM. That's going to be a big change for her as well.

I'm sure everything will work out for us but any and all thoughts and energy would be welcome. Finding a good job right now will be a pretty rare thing around here and we're all going to be going through our own individual changes and adaptations. Thank you for all your prayers and wishes and support. Blessings to all,

SapphireMist
