You have asked a lot about wiccan methods for dealing with stresses and needs. I, too focused on these things when a newbie. The real inner calm and sense of serenity however that develops over time and gives one something solid to hold on to in times that are anything but stress/worry/crisis free is getting to know the Goddess and God and being able to tune into that connection (lifeline!). I have found that this is where the totality of nature and the universe continually speaks to us and teaches us. The problem lies in our busy modern lives which allow little time for paying attention to all that wisdom that is ever-present and surrounds us 24-7. So the more we can observe and listen and feel and breathe-in nature, the more we will know the presence of Diety, without and within. I think there is much to be learned in the "to be silent" in the witch's pyramid. We are constantly turning on the radio or TV or talking on phones, etc. It becomes hard for us to just "be". We are so busy being busy. I know you have finals on top of you. But what will truly help get you to that place of inner calm and assurance that you are seeking is to make a little time throughout each day to just 'be'. It helps me if, (especially with weather as nice as this!) I can focus on something in the outdoors so as not to have my mind spiralling with all sorts of worries and 'have-tos'. That is the trick. to be quiet and not busy and yet to quiet our minds. Some people find gazing at something helps, like water, the sky or a tree or even some wild animal doing its thing. It takes practice to find the quiet in ourselves. My hardest time is lying in bed...that is when I worry and my thoughts get out of hand. other things that help are rythmic, like rockers or swings. With this huge relief being delivered to you and one big hurdle past, this would be a good time to try practicing. It is much harder to begin when buried with anxiety!
