One only has to start living a magickal life to start seeing the fruition of one's spells start manifesting in amazing ways. Sometimes they really are of the 'pinch me' variety. But it is always good to write stuff down and record all events since we forget and when next in the midst of tough times we forget the power we can weild/tap into. Good to remind ourselves of past manifestations. The spell you describe is very "cunningham-ish"...he has so many very straight-forward and practical type things in his writings using jars, strings, and other mundane objects. Oh, BTW, I really like "everyday magick" which is listed in our recommended readings section....she even uses modern things like microwaves and blenders...it has computer spells and all sorts of logical and most usefull spells for our modern lives.
