In case you guys are not aware, the governor of WV has already declared WV to be in a state of emergency due to the remains of hurricane Ivan.
We are on flood watch starting tonight until Saturday. We should be fine in the town we live in and especially since we live on top of a hill. However many people are in great danger of being flooded out. We are expecting up to 8 inches of rain in a very short period of time. And since certain areas of the state (especially where my parents live) have been greatly affected by Mountain Top Removal (read: there are no trees and solid soil left) many people are preparing for the worst. My parents live on the Coal River which is one of the rivers expected to flood. They are waiting on pins and needles with their most precious possessions packed in their RV ready to evacuate if necessary.
I am praying and sending energies that mother earth can hold herself up where many people have tried to destroy her. Many of the people who will be affected by this rain are the ones that are trying to protect her and this beautiful state. My father has been working non-stop to try and stop the atrocities that are going on here.
Any prayers and energies are greatly appreciated in any way that you see fit for the good of all and the harm of none.
I had plans to go to Pagan Pride Day with Ceffalily on Saturday but that has been post poned until Spet 25th. I will not be able to attend this rescheduled date due to a prior committment. Which leads me to another request.
I also ask that you remember a small boy (Jeremy Davidson), around age 3 on Sept 25th. We are going to a march/rally/vigil that day in VA. This small boy was sleeping in his bed last month when a huge boulder came crashing through the wall of his home and killed him. The boulder came from a road up above his home in which a coal company was working on. The coal company did not have a permitt yet to be doing this work and this occured at about 2:30 in the morning. The coal company is responsible for the damages to the home, but there have not been any criminal charges filed yet. From what I understand, the coal company has not been held responsible for his death. I don't quite "get" this. But whatever. They are responsible for the damage to the home but not the boys death. It makes me sick.
