Yes, this has been happening for several years...and I had heard of this through a few other groups/email lists. Each year there are more and more purple ribbons being seen in my local community. Quite a bit more this year, though.

Students have been creative about it though, as there is a strict dress code ( read uniform) now. Ribbons were spotted on bookbags, book covers, and such. Although these two days have passed, a few of the ribbons remained intact for a whole week.

It was neat to hear someone ask "What's up with all the purple ribbons?" And, "the only reason I am asking you is because you are pagan...." Soo, It's intent is fruitful.
