If it helps any, I practiced for over 15 years before having a place to set up an altar and such. I had a great cabinet though. I would just open the cabinet and place the items I wanted to use on top. Now, after all these years I have been able to have an altar set-up but I have to still cover it and put some things away when the bug man comes 3 to 4 X a year! LOL!

Also, Halloween for me has for many years been something of a secular holiday because of the kids trick or treating and parties and such. It has worked for me to separate Samhaain from halloween by using the actual cross-quarter date each year instead of Oct. 31st. While you daughter is young this may be an option you might want to consider. This year the actual cross-quarter date is Nov. 7th. It varies slightly from year to year like other sabbat dates. This has worked for me since the hub-bub of Halloween is past and I can focus more on the spiritual and do my thing.
