So I get 2000 installed, and my 15 gig Maxtor drive isn't recognizing my 20 gig Western Digital drive.

Check, yup, both Fat32, so no partitioning conflicts.

So I download the Western Digital tools, create a boot disk and load up. Everything looks normal.

Shut down, restart with Win2k boot disks. Repair. Bu? Whazzis? The Maxtor drive has an error in the boot sector. Ok, that's no problem. Let windows fix it.

Reboot.

No drives at all now??!?

Wait, Bios is finding them, Windows is not. Maybe if I reinstall windows.

Grab boot disks. Setup Windows.

Huh? One of the drives is not formatted? Let's see, lists a 20 gig partition as formatted, but a 15 gig partition as unformatted. Boot sector must've burped. Ok, reformat the 15 gig Maxtor, install windows.

Windows boots up and... Yay! Both drives are ...

Wait...

Where's all the stuff that was on my Western Digital drive?? WHERE'S MY STUFF?!?!?!?

WHY DID YOU TELL ME YOU WERE FORMATTING THE 15 GIG PARTITION WHEN YOU WERE ACTUALLY FORMATTING THE 20 GIG !!!!!!!!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!!!!

KHAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So that's my tale. Everything on my working drive has now passed on to byte heaven. That includes this latest chapter and all of my notes that aren't hand written (and also all of my photoshops, the half-finished GC chapter I was working on, and the new layout for my front page, but Ford's more important).

Yes, I'm very very sad. Just like the smiley says.

So I'll be rewriting everything this weekend and I'll try to have a new chapter up on Monday, but since I'm also reinstalling all of my software over the weekend, it may be Wednesday before I get it up.
