Probably not a bad idea (or at least a printer-friendly version), especially for those who have inkjets. I haven’t tried to print it out on my BJC 5100, but I doubt that it would come out as easy to read as it does on a laser. (That’s why I print it at work; laser + duplexer.) I prefer to read hard copies of anything rather than reading it on screen, simply because I find reflected light easier on the eye than emitted light. However Ford is normally short enough (and has that eye-easing light text on dark background format) for me to read it on screen if I wish. But not 55 episodes of it. It’s also hard to fit the monitor into the bed if you’re using Ford for your bedtime reading. (Memo to self re night terrors; it may be an idea to rethink this policy. 8^> )

I think it’s going well. Indeed, I think that Ford at present is running better than a lot of "best seller" commercial stuff. The main reason for this is that unlike some best-seller authors who have turned their work into, for example:
- little more than a soapbox for their own political views (Tom Clancy), or
- some kind of bizarre cathartic virtual group therapy session with their readers (any of Patricia Cornwell’s later works),
the emphasis in Ford is still intensely on story-telling. Which is, after all, the reason that people read the things. I was a touch worried that things were going off the rails at one or two points; like when I THOUGHT that it was going to be revealed that Ford was in fact a zombie; but that was cleared up in short order and I could then see where you were going with it.

Ah yes. I’m experimenting with my first attempt at a web site at the moment, working through the text book as I go. It’s almost as easy to get distracted working on one of those as it is working on an Access application. ("Oooh, cool, lemmie see what happens when I try THIS!. Deadline? Huh? What deadline?")

I look forward to the new version. I shall, however, check out the existing ones as soon as I have a moment since they've probably changed since I was last in this precinct anyway.
