Well, that, and the part about being a creature of darkness damned to roam the night and feast on the blood of the innocent.

Actually, if you'll notice, van Helsing was big on beheadings after jamming the stakes through the chests of vampires. Stoker's original "Dracula," not the Hollywood-ized version, is pretty strong on the Hungarian vampyr mythos.

Fordian vampires are, with the exception of Brubakker, the traditional ghouls of lore, not the angst-ridden conflicted souls of Rice and Forever Knight, nor the gothly hipsters of The Masquerade.
