 I've noticed people enjoying this thing called summer vacation.. I do not understand the concept of this word vacation... Its a period where you dont work.. Is that possible?

All you do is readjust your definitions. Working yourself a shade short of death every day will now be considered "freedom", while sleeping and relaxing for more hours than there are in a day, shall now be considered "rigorous and demanding labor".
