1) hullachan pros are the best (i cant spell it though) they're a little bit expensive but worth it. they have padding so no blisters!
2)it really depends on the dancer. i started 2 months after i first took a class, but i advanced quick. if you're really lousy and you never practice(which i'm sure you're not) you'll start after a year or more.
3) only get a school dress in advanced beginner and a solo dress in novice. in beginner wear a white blouse and black skirt JUST above the knee. and loose enough
