The Hunter gave a mental sigh before lifting his weary body off the floor, glaring scornfully at the snake bird, Go back to whatever pit your kind slithered out of. He growled before flexing his tail, slicing the air beneath Kej, obivously annoyed, and yet oblivious to his surronding so seems. Then finally with another heave he stands on his two legs, his tail nimbly dancing its way back to the leather sheath. He realized much to his utter dissappointment, that he could only 'speak' to Kej, and the guardain, the snake bird had taught to remember... Sighing once more he let his shoulders sag and orbs go unfocus, wandering into deep train of thought...

Remember...
He told himself, though it could, and most likely would be heard by the snake bird.
Try to remember...
He did not know why the saying soothed him, but it had.
Drifting... Now the words he spoke were not a language at all, but a mere vibration through his every bone, wandering deeper into his own mind, straying from reality...
Pause, spin, strike. Reliving each memory he could gather...
Then finally the last memory, the last memory from Luc of course...

Running...
Betrayed...
Pain...
Cold, Numb blackness...
It was so quiet... So quiet every bone in his body ached, He knew what would happen next... He could not feeling the own beating of his heart, he could only feel the searing cold, penetrate his flesh... Now the snake birds started screeching... Trieing to drone out the far away screams of another death... Raising his blood stained muzzle he saw, a biped, he had once considered pathetic, charge toward him, he felt it's anger... and could only wait... Then another, near to death as he was, charged across the path, driving it's own claws into the biped's throat. At that moment, he knew both had died... More biped closed around him, only to be driven off or killed... The war had worsened and most snake birds had nearly gone mad... He nearly had too... a pain racked scream ran jagged lines through his mind, jarring all thoughts temporairly, it did not matter what creature had died... but he had felt it no less... He searched for the body of the Hunter that had died for him, touching it's cold blank mind slightly, wincing slightly, Never to go peacefully. he mumbled to the dead Hunter before letting his orbs catch a glimpse of a swirling hole, perhaps he could hide there for awhile... He would not die there, Hunters die fighting... Pain racked his brain as he forced himself up, crawling toward the swirling hole with amazing speed...Then suddenly the ground gave way 'neath him, giving a snarl he fell, into oblivion... and ended up here.

He raised his head, remembering with care the memories.. Then glancing to the snake bird he felt a slight pity for it, Remember the war, my friend? I know you remember it, we all do.
