Hello Brothers and Sisters of the fire and ems service, my name is Rob Stout I am the Indiana Cordorinator for the "Helping Our Own" project to help poorly funded,trained and equipped fire departments across the country.This project was started by Mark Warnick of Mo. our founder and a volunteer firefighter also. What our objectives are is to provide needy fire departments equipment and contacts of other departments that have equipment to donate.We are also lobbying for legislation to get the government to provide proper funding for fire departments,and to make it easier for the poor departments to get grants for equipment and training.To date Mark and his other state cordorinators ahve accomplished in obtaining over 4 million dollars in donated equipment for needy departments.But we still need YOUR HELP There are still thousands among thousands of departments in the USA that many don't have turnout gear or boots or helmets or even PUMPERS they just use brush units.And budgets that don't even allow for anything but to pay the utilities. THIS HAS GOT TO STOP but it won't with out your help,we must all work hard to stop this travesty from happening anymore.So if any of you have equipment that is just sitting there collecting dust please email myself (dfc18@hotmail.com) or our founder Mark Warnick (RDNKCHEIF@aol.com) ANd we will be happy to answer any questions and help how ever we can. ALSO if you are a impovershied department thats needs what we like to call a "Hand Up not a hand out" please contact us also so we can place you with a department that has equipment to donate.
