...I don't think that I could adequately/educatedly answer. The AoM would be the best to ask, though, because it is filled with many, many mages, so you might want to open it to them, too.

IMHO, and as you've pointed out, both provide many benefits to you. As someone who usually plays melee and has never NOT had arcane, I'd train arcane...

But, question for you... how high is your arcane naturally? Can you activate focusing stone?
