Subject: Experience w/front strut brace

I'm reporting my experience with a front strut brace in my 98 D. While I love the suppleness of the suspension (especially at high speeds) there’s too much chassis flex for my taste. Though I've heard good things about the Whiteline suspension kit, I went with only a front strut brace.

The bar is very light (high-tensile alloy) and looks great. Mounting ends on the struts are a bright yellow and the bar is a polished alloy with a sticker reading "Whiteline / Flat Out". Installation was a snap (about 15 minutes) with box-ends and a torque wrench.

Results were quite noticeable and more than I anticipated. The whole front-end seemed tighter, steering was more precise and large bumps seemed more isolated to the suspension rather flexing the whole car. After only a few minutes, a girlfriend commented that the whole car felt more solid. I'm quite satisfied and recommend to others.

Now I’m just wondering why manufacturers don't design this in the first place. Am also considering a rear strut brace. Anyone have one installed? If so, how much trunk space do you lose and is it hard to install?

(ordered online from Mofugas @ $123.69 USD incl. US shiping)
