Subject: Center console getting very hot

Anyone else have a center console that gets very hot ? Mine gets so hot that when you eject a CD from the after-market player they are nearly too hot to touch.

I am guessing this is heat from the heater core radiating out, but it seems excessive (BTW, the heater is off when this occurs).

All suggestions appreaciated,
