Subject: LCD screen

Anyone have this problem? Every so often, and becoming more and more frequent, when I first start the car, only the left hand side of my climate control LCD screen lights up to full. The right hand side lights up ever so slightly. A light tap on the screen itself, (or anywhere on the dash for that matter), brings the entire screen back to life, and it wont do it again unless the car is turned off.

Any input? I imagine the screen is on its way out. If so, anyone have any idea how much a repair would be?
