just as i thought, i got a call from the Mitsu dealer on Friday afternoon saying some other things had been found that needed to be fixed. Namely, the alternator was shot. but i had been expecting that, $310. as well as the spark plugs, $25 for all 6. and the 2 drive belts (i forgot the exact name) were toast, $50 a piece.

supposedly it will be done by tomorrow (Monday).
