Subject: A species and three. I LOVE them, you should too.

Meso T'mae! A species that El loves! And a couple of individuals too.

Which first?

Individuals...

Name: Chill
Age: Young Adult
Gender: Female
Species: Chinchilla-type Rodanti
Looks/Personality: With the soft gray fur and beautiful doe eyes of her chinchilla heritage and fine black plaited hair, Chill looks every inch a beauty. A bright smile will often be found on her face as well. She favors the clothing of a pilot, which includes breeches, a vest, and shoulder and arm guards. Whee!
Personality: Chill tries. She tries hard to do what works. A decent pilot of a blunt ship called the Tunneler and a failed scholar of the Art Academy, she can often be seen soaring around in her ship and practicing on targets. She also tries to take advice, but it ultimately goes wrong.

Name: Savannah Akilla
Age: Young Adult
Species: Rat-type Rodanti
Gender: Female
Looks: A tawny, sleek pelted Rodanti with a sweep of white-gold hair, Savannah looks a bit frail. Strength lies in her ropy muscles however, and her hands are quick to find one of two blasters that are at her hips at all times. Her tail is also good for a weapon, when she can hold a staff in it or use it as itself.
Personality: The rogue youngest daughter of General Akil of the military school on ship Burrow, she is on the run from her future. Her mother planned to send her to the art academy, and her father wanted her in his academy, but a girl just wants to have fun! So she coerced Chill into flying out, and they've been going ever since. Serious and sometimes formal, she will loosen up after a little bit. She's gifted with numbers and a well trained fighter.

Name: Malor
Age: Young adult
Gender: Male
Species: Otter-type Rodanti
Looks: Sleek, lean, and sturdy, Malor doesn't care for shirts, preferring to show off his physique, though he'll wear tattered pants at times. With a roguish gleam to his eyes, he's seldom to be trusted. A small, thin emerald earring is pierced through his left ear.
Personality: A thief, a liar, and another rogue, Malor is out for fun. Piloting the ship Night Strike which he stole from the military school, he too is on the run. He loves to engage in bad things such as smuggling, pirating, and overall naughtiness. He just loves to be bad.

Ah, species. This might be long...

Species Name: Rodanti (Roh-dan-tie)

Homeworld: Their homeworld was once Gosfar, but since it has been destroyed, they now cruise the galaxy in large numbers, living on gigantic battleships and other worlds.

Height at shoulder: Varies with type of animal. Shall I go through them all?

Chinchilla type- 4ft females, 4'5ft males
Mouse type-2 ft females, 2'3-3 ft males
Rat type- 5 ft females, 5-5'6 males
Guinea pig type- 4'3 ft females, 4 ft males
Squirrel type- 2'6 females, 3-3'9 males

And their sub cousin relatives, still Rodanti but blooded off into the weasel family.

Weasel/ferret type- 3 ft females, 3'6 males
Otter type (close enough to weasels)- 6 ft females, 6'5 6'10 males
Badger type- 6'10 females, 7ft males
Mink/Marten type- 3 ft females, 3'6 males

Other types probably exist, though they are hard pressed to be found, such as the lapine branch of the Rodanti.

Species colors: Really any normal colors of whatever animal blood runs through the veins of the Rodanti. The hair can be any color that is found in human hair. Eye color ranges from dark blue to brown to black.

Species Description: Depending on the animal, the Rodanti are a strange race indeed. A blending of humanoid and animal, they are some of both. Bipedal, they are coated in fur and retain the muzzle, tail, and coat texture of whatever type they are. Humaniod attributes include elongated paw-hands, hair, and the ability to articulate and speak. They also have human body types, save the fur, and the muscles to make facial expressions. Their abilities include a wide variety of things, they are capable of making extraordinary ships and crafts, and they breed an odd sort of horse-type crett called a Smulak for riding. Some of them are capable of handling energy in ball form, and transferring it to the ships they build to make them better.

Each Rodanti comes standard with a set of teeth, claws, and killer reflexes. Depending on the type, they can do certain things.

Temperament: Depending on type again, each has a general personality, though no individual is exempt from difference.

Chinchilla types usually are the pilots and the navigators, loving space and never saying no to a good dogfight.

Mouse and Guinea pig types are quite adept at the science area of things, they are the engineers, the dreamers and the planners. It was the original mouse breed that instigated the search for test subjects. Guinea pigs are credited with most of the buildings and ships that the Rodanti use.

Squirrel and otter types have a flair for the arts and culture. Dancers, painters, singers, they are found usually at these types of places, though many do pilot ships and become warriors. Squirrel-types founded a famous academy for the arts, in fact, which many young Rodanti aspire to attend.

Rat, weasel, and ferret types are the warriors of the game. The ground crew that stormed and harvested the planets for expermients, they relish fighting, though some enjoy attending schools of the leisure. Rats founded a military school, which they run with their assistants and pilot experts the chinchilla types. Weasels are the fastest and most liquid of all Rodanti, their speed is legendary, and to fight one is to catch water. Challenging a weasel type would be a big mistake if you didn't know yourself.

Badger types are the overseers, the gruff governers who take over the duty of the law. Badger types, though fearsome and sturdy in appearance, are great beholders of justice. They dislike to see any bend of the law, and are big fans of painting.

Mink and marten types are the spies. They indluge in espionage and are as a rule full of cunning and stealthy bravery. They favor soundless weapons such as blades and the tracking methods of the old ways.

There may be other types of Rodanti that have not been chronicled yet, there are rumors of lapine (rabbit like) Rodanti, though these rumors have not been confirmed.

Species History: The Rodanti started out as crazed experiments. On the homeworld of Gosfar, overlarge, sentient rodents and weasel types had taken over the planet, creating a language, a technology, learning everything necessary to become a civilized culture. Art, music, religion, everything, including schools and such as that. But when their sciences began to branch out, they found they needed creatures to carry out their experiments on. After all, the lives of mice were too highly valued to risk on terrible experiments.

So they began venturing to other planets and collecting dumb, hardy animals to experiment on. They came across one planet with an especially oblivious race, a race of two legged walkers called humans. The scientists reasoned that these animals were so used to breathing in smoke and poisonous fumes, and exposing themselves to terrible diseases daily that they'd be the perfect hardy little animals. The great human harvest lasted a good long time, and humans even became popular pets. Until one mouse had the idea for a genetic meld. The badgers consented to using law breaking ones of their kind with the humans for this meld. It had to be tested on convicts and humans before any animals would put their lives at stake.

It was a success, the meld, and profited both species immensely in ways that not before could be seen. The first ever Real Rodanti was a mink type named Sulker. It went from there. In short, after many many years and more genetic melds, the carrying capacity of Gosfar was exceeded, and a mass exodus was planned and executed with precision. Billions and billions of Rodanti now roam the galaxy, sometimes harming and sometimes helping new worlds.
