Species' Description~ Generally a quadruped species, Chivas alternate their walking patterns based on thier body length. Those with longer torso, though no one seems to know why, convert to a biped lifestyle, rather than remai on all fours, and gain use of their forepaws as hands. However this is a rare occurance, and one is not apt to be found outside the souhern regions of Retrax. With enormous bat-like ears, and stout little muzzles, it would seem that Chivas have the compact face of a large eared dog of some sort. Given the edge of their teeth, one would assume a puppy. However, their genetic background show their heritage leaning more toward earthen rodents such as ferets, weasels, and the like. A slender prehensile tail equipped on males can usually also be found on any elder, this being a writing utensil, and taught at a very young age, not a toy. Females tails grow "fluffy" most free standing, such a that of a cat (Maine Coon for example) Others are born with a shorter curled tail, in some instances, this birth defect is called a snub tail, perhaps because it looks much like the earthen pug tail. Though the snub tail is fairly common it is more common to see what looks like a husky or akita tail adorning the rear of this tiny creature. Stub legs are made for strength not speed, and wide bodies hold organs enlarged for thier small size. Delicate feline paws hold deadly talons within their confines. It is known that males, despie their mischievous nature are extremely territorial. Females not carrying such a zoning instinct either wander or find life-mate.
