At best, the shadow a mile out and approaching dangerously fast, could be described as diamond-shaped...the similarities ended there. The fine electronics on Epsilom (as on the other sci-spheres) gave it amazing capabilites when it came to recon...the very fact that this huge mass had entered Cybertronian Space without true confirmation until now, was beyond belief. The thing had to be spewing out some sort of jamming signal or at the very least causing signal interference.

None of this mattered to the now silent crew of Epsilom. The now ignored dat-feeds were still sending out information at impossible speeds while the open mouthed crew faced the main-screen.

The diamond writhed. It's shape was in constant flux, like an ocean's waves said one scientist. Another said like the sand of a dessert as the wind blows. A third described it the best:

"Like scraplets underneath the skin..."

"How big is it?"

"About 60% smaller than Velocity"

"Primus"

"How many of us are there up here..."

On the side of the black writhing diamond, where sparks of electric light would spit into the night of space for a moment shimmering on the forms moving just under the surface, what appeared to be a hole opened...
