Although the price seems a little high, but I don't know much about the land value in San Dieago so that's probably the main factor there. So how big is the living room? Decent sized? Do you have a balcony? How is it for location, anything interesting near your building? All things considered you should be glad you don't live in a one room apartment above a bowling alley and below another bowling alley :-)

Well hopefully the phone line and DSL set up will go along fine. These kinds of companies tend to take their sweet time when it comes to you needing things done.

A cardboard box fort sounds like a nice idea, although here is another good one. Remember your apartment is completely bare and empty right now, save for the boxes stuffed in the corner. Get a whole pile of plastic armymen, set them up, and have some fun. You have a whole apartment for the war :-) You can even use some small firecrackers and cherry bombs if you haven't given them a security deposit yet :-) Have fun.
