What are you going to Japan for? Are you staying for a vacation or for employment (like teaching conversational English)?

I have to disagree with Silver. I found Shinjuku kind of boring (though it's possible I missed something cool when I stayed there). Shibuya, on the other hand, was pretty cool. I never did get to Akihabara since work interceded with my playtime whilst in Japan. Having less than three days to see Tokyo whilst also putting in 8 hour days at the job kind of put a damper on my tourism. Heh.

Well at any rate, have loads of fun. Keep in touch. Remember that pointing works (I know from personal experience). And uh... Stay away from the arcade dog-walking sim if anyone nearby has a camera.
