we just pulled back in from a six month deployment, so that's probably the biggest news. overall, it went well, we visited a lot of fun ports, had a blast. the high point was probably seeing all sorts of exotic critters in australia, the low point would be getting hit by pepper spray in hawaii for trying to break up a fight. we stopped in hong kong, saw some wicked buddhist temples, went to malaysia and perused their totally awesome black markets, guam....well guam was an armpit, but beer can make anything fun. and then there were the two arabian ports we hit, bahrain and dubai, bahrain being the most awful place in the galazy and dubai only slightly better. bought some cheap jade in hong kong, plenty of bootleg movies in malaysia, and a didgereedoo in australia, which was probably my favorite purchase. and now i'm home and currently looking for a place to rent, because living on the ship is the last thing i wanna do right now. that's been my last six months, i'm glad to hear most everyone is doing well, especially some of the folks who dropped off the radar for a while. i gotta get back to house-hunting, happy trails everyone.
