Subject: Terrorism

I remember when I found out about the attacks. I was at school, and at break and during my free period, I turned on the TV and saw what I thought I'd never see in my lifetime...I'm not too fond of the U.S.'s attitude when it comes to foreign affairs, or the people in general, (and call me a nationalistic pig if you want) but the sight of two of the world's tallest structures being reduced to rubble as a plane with almost a hundred people crashed into a structure with thousands more in it...and the sight of my motherland being attacked, brought me to tears...a piece of the country fell with the 150,000 people who died today. Everyone was in shock. Most went home, those who stayed could not continue working. I saw kind, compassionate human beings in every one of my classmates today. It moved me greatly. I have not hesitated to pray for the families who mourn their victims, and for the world to avoid war or recession, and get back on it's feet and carry on - and for the perpetrators to be brought to justice. That such a thing could ever happen is a chilling thought - just like Madcat said, there really is an evil. And it's running rampant. I also pray for my family in the States, as I have a step-aunt who works right next to the twin towers, and miraculously made it alive...and so that we may not be victims of war or recession, and the world can strive for peace.

This has been very hard to swallow for me...but I can only imagine how it must be for our friends in the States (Aaron, Madcat, Ark) - the States will live to see more crises... but we can learn from the mistakes of the past, and make things less catastrophical.
