Subject: Princess Mononoke is GREAT!!!

My flatmate, Kevin, and I have just relocated ourselves to the residential end of one of Chirstchurch's main streets and were looking through the DVD Palace for a good movie to watch in celebration of our new home. We were humm-ing and Hmmm-ing through a couple of old Arnie movies and Connery classic, when... I saw it.

Princess Mononoke is a movie I've desperately wanted to see for LOOOONG time, ever since I downloaded an anime music video without a title, told by Silver that it was Princess Mononoke after having described it. I snatched it off the shelf, as though I were afraid it would be taken out before my very eyes, even though we were the only ones in the store, save the shop-keeper himself. I hurried over to the desk, followed equally hurriedly by Kevin, who also yearned to see the movie of the music video he liked so much. We got it out, waltzed happily home and slapped it on my DVD-ROM drive. After Kevin went around to his friend's house, I whipped a couple of DVD-2-DivX programmes off his HDD and unsucessfully tried to rip the movie so I could watch it for free at a later date. Stupid freeware pirating software. Just because it's free people think they can become slack with their programming. Anyway, I couldn't contain myself and watched the first 20 minutes of it before Kevin got home, where I stopped, scarfed down a Meateor Pizza and half a bottle of Strawberry milk and lay happily in an armchair.

When we finally got around to hitching my PC up to Kevin's enormous screen, we sent the DVD rip-roaring in the rive and watched in high anticipation.

It..

ROCKED!!!

What a great movie!! I can't believe it was never shown in New Zealand cinemas! I think this movie needs to be shown everywhere so that people can see the masterpiece at it's finest. Okay, so it's a little bit gorey in places, but that doesn't detract it from being one of the best movies I've ever seen in my life! I can't say enough good things about it!

Well, that's it for me rambling about my discoveries.

:)

P.S. I thought it was SOOOOOOO cute when San was helping Ashitaka recover by chewing up the food for him!! (Sounds gross, but looked really sweet! ^_^ )

:)
