Subject: It's about time!

If for whatever reason you don't read EGM, I just thought i'd let you know that Square is coming out with "Final Fantasy Chronicles" for the PSone (PS2 as well considering it's backwards compatibility).

What is it you ask? Well it's a release of two older Square games, much like Final Fantasy Anthology. It contains Final Fantasy IV and Chrono Trigger. They have made it to the PSone at last!

Final Fastasy IV (personally I think it could be the best FF out there, equaling that of FFVI and FFVII) has some extra elements included in it:
- Some grammer improvements will be made
- Storyline elements that were omitted from the SNES version
- New CG cinemas. Hopefully it won't be just a trailer at the beginning and the end of the game, which was the case in Anthology.
- A dash feature that let's you travel faster through towns and dungeons.
- A two player mode that allows two players to engage in battles togather. I'm not sure what this means? You can fight against each other or each player controls half the party members in battle?

The major changes are for Chrono Trigger, which are as follows:
- CT will not get CG cinemas but it will get Anime ones. I know that will make Tashi happy :-)
- Theatre mode
- Art gallery
- Music box
- Complete overhaul of the translation. Up to 90% of the game script will be redone by the same team that did FFIX. It should give the game a more mature environment.

Final Fantasy Chronicles is coming to North America July 2001. I'm going to be first in line for this one.
