Subject: Le 14 Juillet

Fortunately, I managed to keep my head throughout Bastille Day :-)

Basically, what the French do for their national holiday is watch the parade in the morning - pretty much all of France's armed forces march down Champs-Elysees while the President watches. At night, people gather around the Eiffel Tower to watch a most spectacular fireworks show. My mom invited some friends to the apartment before going to the fireworks. I STILL can't believe I carried on a conversation in French :-D

And Tashi - I ate a GYRO today - it was delicious! The Greek restaurant is great. The French restaurants are good as well - crepes...mmmm....

I think I should mention that somebody at a restaurant called me "monsieur" and while dining at the Greek restaurant, I tasted the wine to decide it was good or not (like you usually do at restaurants) - without asking! I feel grown up now ^_^

It's rained so hard these days, I couldn't go to Montmartre...GRRRRR...but one day, I will! I might go to the Rodin Museum today, which is closer to my place than Montmartre.

As for historic places - I've pretty much seen everything in Paris - and I ran out of film. I should be getting some more soon.

Au revoir!
