I always thought that Starcraft had an in-depth storyline. I actually wasen't attracted to Warcraft II very much, the storyline was pretty good but the in-game interface was irritating. Even with the scroll rate turned down to the minimum I would have trouble keeping the screen where I wanted to it. I found the pathfinding ability of the units to be rather annoying as they would never go where I wanted. I am looking forward to Warcraft III, however. I haven't heard much about it in a long time. Anyone here know when it is coming out in North America?

Age of Empires II is more focused on gameplay than storyline. You can play single player campaigns involving various historical events like William Wallace, Joan of Arc, The Crusades, Gehngis Khan, The Holy Roman Empire, Attila the Hun..ect. But these campaigns don't draw you in as much as Warcraft however the multiplayer is great. The games have so many civs and units to play, as well as lots of game settings. You can neve get bored of it.

Age of Empires II may not be the best for storyline, but I would reccomend it of you play a lot of multiplayer games.
